DESCRIPTION:The Literacy Committee supported by the Community Service Committee is seeking volunteers to participate in The Bahamas Literacy Association’s  3rd Annual Diagnostic Testing & Pilot Prevention Program.  Date: Saturday August 17th 2024  Event Time: 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM They are hoping to attact 100 students from through out the Bahamas to be tested.  ASK : Data entry volunteers are needed between 9 and 1:00 pm.  The data entry voluntees will be required to:  Input test scores  Ensure accuracy and confidentiality of all data entered Assist with organizing physical and digital files.   Arrival time:  It is asked that you arrive 30 minutes in advance to get set up Tools Needed: Laptop Additional Notes: If you are a Teacher you can reach out to the CS committee Chair to sign up specifically to assist with testing.

SUMMARY:RCEN Board Meeting - August 2024
DESCRIPTION:The monthly Board Meeting of the Rotary Club of East Nassau for 2024-2025 Rotary Year is scheduled for the 4th Thursday monthly.  The meeting venue to be confirmed monthly is normally a Board member’s home\, or the Nassau Yacht Club.  The meeting time is normally from 6:30pm to 9:30pm\, with attendees encouraged to arrive by 6:00pm for fellowship.    Club members (including RAD and Rotaract) are always encouraged to attend Board meetings periodically.  This is an opportunity to see the Board in action\, learn what happens behind the scenes\, and participate/give feedback.   When hosted at a Board member’s home\, there will be limited space for 3 additonal club members to attend.  These 3 spots go to the first members registered.  Refreshments are provided\, therefore kindly inform the Club Secretary of any diet restrictions. The Club Secretary will provide directions after successful registration.  ​ When hosted at the Nassau Yacht Club\, there is unlimited space for additional club members to attend.  Light beverages are provided. NYC dinner menu is available to attendees at individual cost.   Registration for the Board meeting is required by the deadline.  Registration normally closes 4 days before the meeting (Sunday of the meeting week).  This is a strict deadline to allow the Board sufficient time to make preprarations for attendees.   The information above is subject to change.

DESCRIPTION:Since 1975\, the Rotary Club of East Nassau has upheld its commitment to community service through the enduring ‘Fox Hill Run’ feeding program. Currently\, we extend vital assistance each month to seven families\, supplying a variety of necessities including dry and canned goods\, fresh produce\, toiletries\, and cleaning supplies. It is held on the last Saturday monthly from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.  (subject to change re. weather or special occasions) Please join us on the ‘Run’ and register soonest to fill one of the 15 spaces available each month.  Meet up spot: Blairwood Academy parking lot (Village Road – opposite National Trust) @ 7:00 a.m. sharp. SUMMARY:Antique Auto Show & Cook-Out at Arawak Cay
DESCRIPTION:Support Support Support! The event is organized by The Kiwanis Club of Cable Beach as its 38th Annual Antique Auto Show & Cook-Out. We love collaborating with other non-profit organizations in The Bahamas. This event is also supported by The Antique Auto Club of The Bahamas (of which PP and PAG Murray Forde is a Founding Member). Dinners from the Cook-Out are only $15.00. Tickets are available from PP and PAG Murray Forde  and Don Aranha\, Past President\,Kiwanis Club and Lead Organizer.   The Auto Show is also an important part of Community Service as all funds raised will be Donated to Two Bahamian  organizations; All Saints Camp and BTVI Scholarship Fund. We hope to see many Rotarians and Rotaractors at the Auto Show… and REMEMBER tickets for the Dinners are only $15.00!
